The longest flight in the airport’s history
Just before the end of last year, a Bombardier Global 6500 flew from our airport all the way to Puerto Rico. This is probably the longest flight in the history of Poprad airport.
Luiz Munoz Marin Airport in San Juan is over 8,000km from Poprad and the flight took 10 hours and 40 minutes.
The Bombardier Global series aircraft are bizzjets designed for the longest routes. The Global 6500 has a range of over 12,000km, the latest Global 8,000 even up to 15,000km – so it has no problem jumping from the Tatra Mountains across the Atlantic without a stopover.
